MultimediaGallerypotwPicture of the Week, April 11, 2019By Editorial Staff - April 11, 20190PrintEmailFacebookTwitterLinkedin 1 of 4 I shot this picture 450nm SW of the Hawaiian Islands flying Air Canada from Melbourne to Vancouver on the Dreamliner. I used the 787's electrochromatic dimmable windows to come up with this effect to reduce overexposure shooting directly into the sun. Shot with a Samsung Galaxy S8. Copyrighted photo by Corey Wirun. The iconic Bixby Bridge on the Big Sur Coast in California. This was my first flight down Big Sur after moving to Monterey from San Diego. The rugged coastline and lack of any emergency landing areas or radio contact with Norcal are always at the back of your mind, but the view is out of this world! Shot February 2018 from a Cessna 172 flying out of Monterey. Photo by David Dickins. My wife Mila Steffora's first solo landing in our 1968 Cessna 150H at Hollister Municipal Airport (KCVH), Hollister, CA, on Dec 31st, 2017. Camera is Canon 5D MKIII, 400mm - f2.8 - ISO100. Image taken handheld positioned on the east-side edge of Runway 31. Copyrighted photo by Philip Steffora. Shot from an Air New Zealand A320 flying from Christchurch to Auckland on 8 April 2019, just before top of descent. The colours were too vivid to ignore. Camera: Nikon D7100, 1/160 sec, f4.8.
