Daher introduced the TBM 940, a new version of its single-engine turboprop aircraft, at the Safety Seminar meeting of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association on Thursday. Features new to the 940 model include auto-throttle, increased automation for the deicing system and a redesigned interior.

The Farnborough International Airshow has announced that it is removing its public weekend, taking the biennial show from seven days to five and eliminating its public airshow.

Goodyear Introduces Tire-Propeller Concept

Goodyear presented a concept for a tilt-rotor-type device that would work as a tire on the road and a propeller in the air at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland on Tuesday. The Goodyear AERO concept involves a non-pneumatic structure with the flexibility to dampen shocks when driving and the strength to rotate at high enough speeds to create vertical lift.

Boeing Donates $3 Million For ERAU Scholarships

Boeing awarded a $3 million grant to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) aimed at accelerating the school’s pilot training and aviation maintenance programs at the 18th Annual U.S. Chamber of Commerce Aviation Summit on Thursday. The grant will create a permanent endowment to fund annual scholarships for flight training, maintenance training and certification costs.
